An Introduction to the Groton Long Point Neighborhood

Groton Long Point is a wonderful community situated on a peninsula in Long Island Sound. In the summertime, it has the feel of a summer resort, with successive generations bringing their own children back to reacquaint them with their "summer friends", and enjoy summers on the shore. There are about 602 houses; year round population is about 1762. Summer residents number about 5432. In the "lagoon", there are boat moorings and docks, with a very protected anchorage.
The Groton Long Point Yacht Club is in charge of the moorings and dock space, and is in charge of the summer activities like tennis lessons, sailing or swimming lessons, etc. You can click on the link to their web site for additional details. |
