OPEN HOUSES ARE POSTED EVERY TUESDAY FOR THE FOLLOWING WEEKEND CONSIDER THE FOLLOWING POINTS WHEN GOING TO AN OPEN HOUSE: CONNECTICUT LAW REQUIRES THE AGENCY OF THE SPONSORING OPEN HOUSE (THE ONE LISTING THE PROPERTY) TO POST A SIGN STATING THAT THEY REPRESENT THE SELLER. IT MUST BE VISIBLE
THE HOSTING REALTOR MAY ASK YOU TO SIGN IN ON A SHEET PROVIDED BY THEIR OFFICE. THE SIGN IN SHEET IS FOR SAFETY REASONS FOR BOTH REALTOR AND SELLER. READ THE SIGN -IN SHEET AS IT MAY HAVE A DISCLAIMER STATING THAT IF YOU SIGN IN YOU CAN BE CONTACTED BY THE HOSTING REALTOR. IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO BE CONTACTED, YOU MAY WRITE THAT NEXT TO YOUR NAME THAT YOU DO NOT WANT TO BE CONTACTED.

YOU MAY CALL THE REALTOR DIRECTLY TO ASK IF SHE OR HE WILL STILL BE HOLDING THE OPEN HOUSE. IF IT IS CANCELLED MORE THAN LIKELY IT WILL BE RESCHEDULED FOR THE NEXT DAY OR THE NEXT WEEKEND. IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN THE HOME AND YOU DO NOT HAVE REPRESENTATION YOU MAY ASK THE HOSTING REALTOR FOR INFORMATION ON AGENCY LAWS AND REPRESENTATION. THE REALTOR SHOULD HAVE A HANDOUT AT THE OPEN HOUSE EXPLAINING THAT LAW.
